I am just learning to scan holter moniters at work and a pt. with a pacemaker and in atrial fibrillation had this rhythm with 5 to 10 PVC's in a row off and on. The computer called it IVR?
ALso, can a PVC be a paced beat? THe docs weren't in today to ask them. Thanks!!!|||IVR is an idioventricular rhythm. Its when the origin of the electrical pathway begins in the ventricles. PVC's are premature, so no they can't be paced. However you can have a ventricular paced rhythm in which the pacemake causes the ventricles to contract.|||Chad is right, give him the 10 points
